Biography
Constanze Engelbrecht was a German actress. Born in Munich in 1950, she was the daughter of actress Alice Franz. She began working as a voice actress at the age of six, providing the German voice for the character Jeff in the television series Lassie for six years. After studying classical singing at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich, the Mozarteum in Salzburg and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, she trained as an actress with Rosemarie Fendel and worked in theatre in Munich and Paris.
Engelbrecht appeared in more than seventy films and television productions between 1960 and 1998. She was known for roles in German television series including Derrick and Tatort, and for her performances in the miniseries The Shadow Man (1996) and as Hermine Danglars in the 1998 television adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo. Her film credits include Shining Through (1992), in which she played Stafson Von Neest.
She was married to actor François Nocher and was the mother of actress Julie Engelbrecht. Engelbrecht died in Munich in 2000.
