Biography
Cox Habbema was a Dutch actress. She was born Cornelia Habbema in Amsterdam on 21 March 1944 and died there on 18 April 2016. After studying acting and directing at the Toneelschool Amsterdam, she made her stage debut in 1967 and later worked with companies in London, Paris, Italy and Berlin.
From the late 1960s to the mid-1980s she appeared in several East German DEFA productions, including Eolomea (1972) and Die unverbesserliche Barbara (1977). She is also known for her role as the psychiatrist Janine van den Bos in the Dutch film A Question of Silence (1982). Habbema later managed the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam and directed for the stage.
