Biography
Cyrus Nowrasteh is an American screenwriter, director and producer. He was born on 19 September 1956 in Boulder, Colorado, and graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Nowrasteh began his career writing for the series The Equalizer (1985). He later worked on Falcon Crest, wrote the pilot for La Femme Nikita (1997) and an episode of the miniseries Into the West (2005). He wrote three episodes of Hawaii Five-0 (2010) and served as consulting producer on twelve more. His feature films as director and screenwriter include The Stoning of Soraya M. (2009), The Young Messiah (2016), Infidel (2019) and Sarah's Oil (2025).
He wrote and produced the controversial 2006 ABC miniseries The Path to 9/11. Nowrasteh is married to writer and producer Betsy Giffen Nowrasteh.
