Biography
Daisuke Tengan is a Japanese screenwriter and film director. Born on 14 December 1959 in Tokyo, he is the eldest son of director Shohei Imamura.
He wrote the screenplay for Takashi Miike’s Audition (1999), adapted from the novel by Ryu Murakami. Tengan has collaborated frequently with both Miike and his father, contributing screenplays to Imamura’s The Eel (1997) and Warm Water Under a Red Bridge (2001), and to Miike’s 13 Assassins (2010). He has also directed several of his own features, including Aiki (2002) and Dendera (2011).
