Biography
Dalene Young was an American screenwriter, producer and occasional actor. She was born on 29 June 1939 in Hawaii and died on 9 May 2025.
Young wrote the screenplays for Little Darlings (1980), Cross Creek (1983) and The Baby-Sitters Club (1995). She received a Daytime Emmy nomination for co-writing the 1999 Showtime special Locked in Silence and a Christopher Award and Humanitas Prize nomination for the 1992 NBC telefilm Jonathan: The Boy Nobody Wanted. Her acting credits include the role of Jezebel in the 2021 film Pig.
She began her career in the New York off-off-Broadway scene and later wrote numerous television films. She was married to director Robert Martin Carroll.
