Biography
Dallas Jenkins is an American film and television director, writer and producer. He is best known as the creator, director and co-writer of the series The Chosen (2017–), the first multi-season drama about the life of Jesus of Nazareth.
Born in St. Charles, Illinois, in 1975, he is the son of novelist Jerry B. Jenkins. Jenkins graduated from the University of Northwestern–St. Paul in 1997. His early credits include producing the feature Hometown Legend (2000) for Warner Bros. distribution and directing the features What If... (2010) and The Resurrection of Gavin Stone (2017). He later directed The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (2024).
Through his production company Vertical Church Films and later 5&2 Studios, Jenkins developed The Chosen, which became the highest crowd-funded media project and has reached a worldwide audience via crowdfunding and streaming deals.
