Biography
Daniel White was a French composer and actor. Born on 22 May 1912 in Malakoff, near Paris, he composed his first film score in 1947 and went on to write music for more than 130 films.
He is best known for his long collaboration with director Jesús Franco, beginning with Le Sadique (1962) and including scores for The Hot Nights of Linda (1975), Female Vampire (1975), Barbed Wire Dolls (1976), Zombie Lake (1981) and Oasis of the Zombies (1982). White also composed for Don Quixote (1992), a posthumous assembly of Orson Welles footage. He worked with directors including Pierre Chevalier and León Klimovsky, and recorded numerous albums under pseudonyms such as Daniel J. White, Dan Villers and Daniel Gerome.
White died on 24 May 1997 in Conches-en-Ouche, France.
