Biography

Danny King is a British novelist and screenwriter. Born Daniel Michael King on 5 March 1969 in Slough, he left school at 16 without qualifications. After working as a hod carrier and in other jobs, he studied journalism at Farnborough College of Technology and the London College of Printing. Between 1993 and 2002 he worked on magazines, becoming editor of Mayfair.

He has published more than a dozen books, beginning with The Burglar Diaries (2001). His screenwriting credits include the feature films Wild Bill (2011), co-written with Dexter Fletcher, and Eat Locals (2017). He has also written for television, including the sitcom Thieves Like Us (2007), and several short films.

King received the Writers' Guild of Great Britain Award for Best First Feature Film for Wild Bill and was nominated for a BAFTA for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.
