Biography
David Chung Chi-Man (also credited as Chung Chi-Man) is a Hong Kong cinematographer and occasional director. He began as a camera assistant at the Shaw Brothers studio in 1964, became a television cinematographer in 1968 and joined TVB in 1973. His first feature credit was on For Whom to be Murdered (1978).
He is known for his work on films including The Secret (1979), An Autumn's Tale (1987), Painted Faces (1988), God of Gamblers (1989), Once Upon a Time in China (1991), King of Beggars (1992) and Flirting Scholar (1993). Chung won Best Cinematography at the Golden Horse Awards for The Secret and Painted Faces, and at the Hong Kong Film Awards for An Autumn's Tale. He served as vice-chairman of the Hong Kong Society of Cinematographers from 1989 and emigrated to the United States in 1995.
