Biography
David Harsent is an English writer, poet and librettist. He has written television scripts for series including Midsomer Murders, Holby City and The Bill, often credited as David Lawrence.
Born in Devon in 1942, Harsent has also published poetry collections and thrillers under pseudonyms including Jack Curtis. He has written opera libretti, notably in collaboration with composer Harrison Birtwistle.
He is married to actress Julia Watson.
