Biography
David M. Richardson is a film editor based in Hong Kong. Born in the United Kingdom, he is the son of a film editor and began his career working in Vancouver before moving to Hong Kong cinema.
He collaborated extensively with director Johnnie To and co-founded Milkyway Image, serving as the company's chief editor. His credits include Fulltime Killer (2001), Breaking News (2004), Exiled (2006), Eye in the Sky (2007), Drug War (2012), Trivisa (2016), Limbo (2021) and Mad Fate (2023).
Richardson has received multiple Hong Kong Film Award nominations and won Best Editing for Trivisa (2016) and Mad Fate (2023). He also won the Golden Horse Award for Best Film Editing for Breaking News and the Asian Film Award for Best Editor for Eye in the Sky.
