Biography
David Marshall Grant is an American actor and writer. Born on 21 June 1955 in Westport, Connecticut, he trained at the Yale School of Drama and began his career on stage, appearing in the original Broadway production of Bent (1979).
He is known for film roles including Richard Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada (2006) and Jerry Harmon in The Stepford Wives (2004), as well as television appearances in series such as Alias (2005) and CSI: Miami (2004). Grant received a Tony Award nomination for his performance as Joe Pitt in the Broadway production of Angels in America (1993–1994).
As a writer, he has contributed to television series including Brothers & Sisters (2006–2011), Nashville (2012) and Code Black (2015–2018), and co-wrote the screenplay for the film Spoiler Alert (2022). He has also written several plays, among them Snakebit (1998).
