Biography
David Merritt II is a writer, director and producer. He served as staff writer and story editor (credited as David Merritt) on the television series The Blacklist (2013), contributing to 23 episodes between 2018 and 2022, and received writing credits on two episodes.
Earlier credits include writing for WWE programmes such as WWE SmackDown! (1999–2005) and WWE Raw (2005). He has written, directed and produced independent shorts including Mouthpiece (2016), Unravel (2017) and Five Thousand Six Hundred Ninety Seven Pounds (2025).
He is from Durham, North Carolina, and is based in Tarzana, California, where he founded the production company King David Films.
