Biography
Diana Fairfax (born Diana Vida Jean Fairfax) was an Australian-born British actress. Born in Melbourne, Victoria, she arrived in England in 1945 and trained at RADA before making her television debut in the 1950s.
She appeared in numerous stage and television productions, including early roles in BBC serials such as The Diary of Samuel Pepys (1958) and Bleak House (1959). Later credits included Mrs Brown in Just William (1977), Emily Warbeck in Love in a Cold Climate (1980), Mrs Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility (1981), and Rosalind Clegg in The Politician's Wife (1995). She also appeared in The Professionals (1977) and Casualty (1986).
In 1958 she married actor Derek Godfrey; the couple had two daughters. Fairfax died in London in 2019.
