Biography
Diana Sowle (born Diana Mae Laumer) was an American actress. She was born on 19 June 1930 in Chico, California, and died on 19 October 2018 in Laurel, Maryland.
Sowle is best known for playing Mrs. Bucket, Charlie's mother, in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. She appeared in two further films in 1994: Guarding Tess as a hairdresser and Clear and Present Danger as a cartel maid. She also provided voices for several characters in the 2008 video game Fallout 3. Earlier in her career she performed in stage productions, including a long run in the play Shear Madness.
