Biography
Dieter Eppler (11 February 1927 – 12 April 2008) was a German actor. Born in Stuttgart, he made his stage debut in 1947 at a theatre in Heidenheim and later held engagements at the Staatstheater Stuttgart and other German theatres.
Eppler appeared in numerous films and television productions from the 1950s onwards. He had leading roles in several Edgar Wallace adaptations, including Fellowship of the Frog (1959), and played the Bathhouse Boiler Room Manager in Deep End (1971). He was frequently cast in crime series such as Derrick (from 1974) and Tatort, and also directed radio dramas.
He remained based in Stuttgart throughout his career and was married to Magdalene Schnaitmann.
