Biography
Djebril Zonga is a French actor and former model. He is known for his role as the police officer Gwada in Ladj Ly’s Les Misérables (2019), which he had previously played in Ly’s 2017 short film of the same name. He also appeared as Doum in Nawell Madani’s C’est tout pour moi (2017).
Zonga grew up in Clichy-sous-Bois in Seine-Saint-Denis. He played professional football in Portugal’s second division and in France before an injury ended his career. He worked as a model for around ten years, including campaigns for Diesel. He later trained in acting at the Susan Batson Studio in New York and made his screen debut in 2017. He received a César Revelation nomination in 2020 for his performance in Les Misérables.
