Biography
Donyale Luna, also credited as Luna and born Peggy Ann Freeman, was an American model and actress. She began her career in New York in 1964 and rose to prominence in Europe as a fashion model during the mid-1960s.
In 1966 she became the first Black model to appear on the cover of the British edition of Vogue. Luna also acted in films including Who Are You, Polly Maggoo? (1966) and Fellini Satyricon (1969), in which she played Enotea. She appeared in other European productions such as Skidoo (1968) and Salomè (1972).
Luna died in Rome on 17 May 1979, aged 33.
