Biography
Dorothy Kathleen Gulliver was an American actress. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, she began her career after winning a beauty contest sponsored by Universal Pictures and signed a contract with the studio in 1925. She appeared in silent serials and the long-running The Collegians series of shorts before becoming a leading lady in 1930s sound serials and Westerns, including The Galloping Ghost (1931), The Shadow of the Eagle (1932) and Custer's Last Stand (1936). She was named a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1928.
Gulliver had smaller roles in later years, including an appearance in King Kong (1933). She returned to a credited part as Florence in John Cassavetes's Faces (1968) and made her final screen appearance in Won Ton Ton, the Dog Who Saved Hollywood (1976). She died in Valley Center, California, in 1997.
