Biography
Douglas McPhail (1914–1944) was an American actor and baritone singer. He began in uncredited chorus and bit roles in MGM musicals from 1936, including appearances in films with Jeanette MacDonald, before gaining credited parts in the late 1930s.
His notable roles include Don Brice in Babes in Arms (1939), Dennis Fogarty in Little Nellie Kelly (1940), and Murray Saunders in Born to Sing (1942). He also appeared uncredited in Broadway Melody of 1940 (1940) and other MGM productions. McPhail was married to actress and singer Betty Jaynes.
