Biography
Eboni Freeman is a television writer and producer. A University of Michigan graduate and Posse Foundation scholar, she began her career in sports production at FOX Sports, where she won an Emmy for coverage of the 2015 Women’s World Cup. She later moved into scripted writing following an internship at FX and acceptance into the Sundance Episodic Lab for her pilot “Lovely Women”.
Freeman joined the writers’ room on This Is Us (2016) in 2018, rising to executive story editor and co-producer over four seasons. She wrote or co-wrote episodes including “Our Little Island Girl” and “Birth Mother”. She has also written for Ginny & Georgia (2021) and earlier credits include the short Behind the Fairy Tale: Cinderella (2013). She received Writers Guild of America and Humanitas Prize nominations for her work on This Is Us.
