Biography
Ebru Ceylan, also credited as Ebru Yapıcı, is a Turkish screenwriter, photographer, actress and art director. She was born on 26 January 1976 in Ankara and studied film and television at Marmara University and Mimar Sinan University. She has been married to filmmaker Nuri Bilge Ceylan since 2003.
Ceylan appeared in a small role in Distant (2002) and later in Climates (2006), which she co-wrote with her husband. She has co-written the screenplays for Three Monkeys (2008), Once Upon a Time in Anatolia (2011), Winter Sleep (2014), The Wild Pear Tree (2018) and About Dry Grasses (2023). She has also worked as art director on several of these films and made short films, one of which was selected for the Cannes Film Festival in 1998.
