Biography
Ed Spiegel (1922–2010) was an American film and television editor, director and producer. He began working as an editor in the early 1950s and received a co-editing credit on the independent feature Salt of the Earth (1954).
Spiegel edited episodes of several documentary series, including Confidential File (1955–1958) and Biography (1962). In 1973 he won a Primetime Emmy Award for editing the episode "Surrender at Appomattox" of the series Appointment with Destiny (1972). He also directed documentary specials and wrote the book The Innocence of the Eye: A Filmmaker's Guide (2001).
