Biography
Edward Coxen (also credited as Edward Albert Coxen, Eddie Coxen or Ed Coxen) was an English-born American actor. Born in Southwark, London, on 8 August 1880, he moved to the United States as a child and later settled in California.
He began his stage career in 1906 at the Majestic Theatre in San Francisco and entered films around 1912, appearing in more than 200 productions until the early 1940s. Early in his career he took leading roles in melodramas and Westerns; later he was often seen in supporting or uncredited parts. He is credited as John McKay in Buster Keaton’s Our Hospitality (1923). Coxen was married to actress Edith Borella.
