Biography
Edward Curtiss was an American film editor who worked in Hollywood from the 1920s to the 1960s. Born in Los Angeles, he began in the industry around 1921 as a stuntman and aviator before transitioning to editing after impressing director Howard Hawks on set.
He edited numerous films, including The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923), Scarface (1932), Come and Get It (1936), Winchester '73 (1950) and Touch of Evil (1958, additional editing). Curtiss received an Academy Award nomination for Come and Get It and worked primarily at Universal. His television credits include an episode of Rawhide (1959) and episodes of The Twilight Zone (1963). He retired in 1961 and died in 1970.
