Biography
Eleanor Worthington-Cox is an English actress born on 21 June 2001 in Merseyside. She trained at the Formby School of Performing Arts from the age of two until 2012 and appeared in the chorus of a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Liverpool Empire before her professional breakthrough.
She is best known for her stage role as Matilda Wormwood in Matilda the Musical, for which she shared a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2012, becoming the youngest recipient at the age of 10. On screen she played Janet Hodgson in the 2015 Sky Living series The Enfield Haunting, receiving a British Academy Television Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Her other credits include the role of young Aurora in Maleficent (2014), Cait in Britannia (2018), the title role in Gwen (2018) and Polly Renfrew in Hetty Feather (2015–2016).
