Biography
Élisabeth Tavernier was a French costume designer who worked in cinema and theatre. Born on 24 June 1946 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, she died on 19 January 2022 in Paris.
She designed costumes for numerous French films, including Wild Reeds (1994) directed by André Téchiné, No Fear, No Die (1990) directed by Claire Denis, Betty Blue (1986), Tanguy (2001) and Normandie Nue (2018). She received three César nominations for best costumes, for La vie est un long fleuve tranquille (1988), Place Vendôme (1998) and another film.
Tavernier also worked in theatre with directors including Gérard Vergez and André Wilms.
