Biography
Elisabeth Waelchli is a Swiss film editor, screenwriter and director, also credited as Elizabeth Wälchli. She studied sociology in Lausanne and attended the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin. Since 1976 she has worked as an independent editor on fiction and documentary films.
Waelchli edited Yol (1982), which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes, as well as Die Spieldosenstraße (1996), which she also directed. She has maintained a long collaboration with director Peter Entell on several documentaries, including Le tube (2001) and A Home Far Away (2013).
