Biography
Elith Pio (born Viggo Elith William Pio) was a Danish actor of stage, screen, radio and television. He made his stage debut in 1907 and joined the Royal Danish Theatre in 1931, remaining there until his retirement in 1974.
Pio appeared in numerous silent films, including Leaves from Satan's Book (1920) directed by Carl Theodor Dreyer and Häxan (1922) directed by Benjamin Christensen, in which he played Johannes, one of the witch judges. He continued working in sound films into the 1960s and 1970s, with roles in Jenny and the Soldier (1947) and The Man Who Thought Life (1969).
He was married to actress Soffy Pio from 1912 until her death in 1982.
