Biography
Elizabeth Bower is an English actress. She was born on 1 August 1976 in Leeds, West Yorkshire. She graduated from the University of Warwick with a BA in theatre studies and performing arts, and obtained a postgraduate diploma in acting and musical theatre from the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
Bower is best known for playing GP registrar Melody Bell in the BBC soap opera Doctors from 2007 to 2009. Her other television credits include Secret Life of Boys (2015–2021), Miss Scarlet (2020) as Mrs Wentworth, Creeped Out (2017) as Paxton, and Silent Witness (1996). She appeared uncredited as the Chatty Exhibition Guest in the film Closer (2004) and as Another Shopper in Jingle Bell Heist (2025). In 2006 she won the Edinburgh Fringe Report award for Best Actress in TV Drama and Comedy.
