Biography
Ella La Cour was a Danish actor, also credited as Eleonora Caroline Møller and Ella la Cour. She began her stage career in 1873 at the Folketeatret in Copenhagen and performed there until 1886, with additional engagements in Norway and at other Copenhagen theatres including the Dagmarteatret.
She made her film debut around 1908 at Nordisk Film and appeared in roughly 50 productions by the end of 1911. She worked subsequently with Kinografen and played the role of Karna, the sorceress, in Benjamin Christensen's Häxan (1922).
In 1876 she married the actor Charles Dornonville de la Cour; the marriage ended in divorce in 1886, after which she retained the surname la Cour.
