Biography
Ellen Farner is a German actress and former model. She is best known for her role as Madeleine in Jacques Demy's musical film The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964).
Farner began her career with a stage appearance as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet in Ingolstadt in 1962. Her other film credits include Die drei Scheinheiligen (1964) and Ruf der Wälder (1965). She also appeared in several German television productions between 1964 and 1970. Farner worked as a model for the Paris Planning Women agency from 1967 to 1971. Her younger sister, Ini Farner, is also an actress.
