Biography
Emerson Treacy (17 September 1900 – 10 January 1967) was an American actor who worked in film, on Broadway and in radio. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he graduated from St Joseph College there and began his professional career in a Provincetown Players production before appearing in other stage work in New York and elsewhere.
He formed a successful comedy double-act with Gay Seabrook on radio and in theatre in the early 1930s. Treacy appeared in dozens of feature films, including Gone with the Wind (1939), Adam's Rib (1949) as Jules Frikke, The Prowler (1951) and The Wrong Man (1956), as well as the Our Gang shorts Bedtime Worries and Wild Poses. He also took guest roles in television series such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Perry Mason. He was married to actress Ann McKay.
