Biography
Eric S. Hatch (also credited as Eric Hatch) was an American novelist and screenwriter. Born in New York City on 31 October 1901, he worked on the staff of The New Yorker and published more than twenty-five novels.
His 1935 novel 1101 Park Avenue (issued as My Man Godfrey) provided the basis for the 1936 film My Man Godfrey, on which he shared screenplay credit with Morrie Ryskind. He also wrote the screenplay for Topper (1937) and contributed to later adaptations of his work, including The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit (1968).
Hatch died in Torrington, Connecticut, on 4 July 1973.
