Biography
Erica Schmidt is an American theatre director, playwright and screenwriter. She graduated from Vassar College in 1997 and has directed and written numerous off-Broadway productions, including the all-female adaptation Mac Beth and A Month in the Country.
Schmidt wrote the book for and directed the stage musical Cyrano, which premiered at Goodspeed Musicals in 2018. She adapted it into the screenplay for the 2021 film Cyrano, directed by Joe Wright.
In 2005 she married actor Peter Dinklage. She received a Robert and Gloria Hausman Theater Honor from the Princess Grace Foundation in 2001 and was nominated for two Drama Desk Awards in 2020.
