Biography
Erik Øksnes (1930–1998) was a Norwegian actor whose primary work was on the stage. He made his stage debut in 1954 at the Riksteatret and was later employed at Rogaland Teater (1963–66), Trøndelag Teater (1966–69) and Det norske teatret from 1969.
On stage he appeared in modern realist drama, including leading roles in Eugene O'Neill's A Moon for the Misbegotten and Arthur Miller plays such as Death of a Salesman. He also performed in Nynorsk drama by Arne Garborg and Olav Duun. In film he took mostly supporting roles, including a central part in Karjolsteinen (1977) and the Captain in Zero Kelvin (1995). He was married to actress Julie Øksnes from 1959.
