Biography
Erik Plooyer (1933–1988) was a Dutch actor. Born in Laren, Noord-Holland, he attended the toneelschool in Amsterdam, leaving early in 1953 to join Toneelgroep Puck. He later worked with Het Rotterdams Toneel and Toneelgroep Studio, and appeared regularly on Dutch television from the mid-1950s onwards.
Plooyer took on administrative roles in theatre, serving as artistic director of De Nieuwe Komedie / Arena between 1968 and 1973. In 1978 he became director of the youth theatre De Krakeling in Amsterdam, which he had helped found. His screen credits include the role of the prosecutor in A Question of Silence (1982). He was the son of singer and vocal coach Marcus Plooyer and was married to actress Dore Smit.
