Biography
Erik Pyryev was a Soviet film director, screenwriter and actor. He was the son of director Ivan Pyryev and actress Ada Voytsik.
As a child actor, he appeared as the young Ivan IV in Sergei Eisenstein's Ivan the Terrible (Part II released 1958). In 1954 he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University. He directed the musical film Melodies of Dunaevsky and served as second director on Our Mutual Friend (1961) and Man Without a Passport (1966).
Pyryev died in Moscow in 1970, aged 38.
