Biography
Erzsébet Gaál, also credited as Erzsi Gaál, was a Hungarian actress and theatre director. She was born on 29 September 1951 in Túrkeve and died on 11 June 1998 in Budapest.
Gaál began her career in the 1970s with alternative groups including Orfeo and Stúdió K. In 1980 she founded the Gödöllői Amatőrszínész Stúdió. From 1985 she worked at the Móricz Zsigmond Színház in Nyíregyháza, becoming a director there in 1989, and later directed at the József Attila Színház. She was married to theatre director Sándor Zsótér.
Her film roles include Halicsné in Satantango (1994), a part in Dear Emma, Sweet Böbe (1992) and Anna in Forbidden Relations (1983).
