Biography
Faith Soloway is an American composer, writer and performer. Born on 28 March 1964 in Boston, Massachusetts, they attended Indiana University and began working in Chicago theatre, writing music for productions including an adaptation of Twelfth Night and later joining Second City.
Soloway wrote episodes of the Amazon series Transparent (2014–2019), created by their sibling Joey Soloway, and also served as a producer on the show while appearing as Cantor Joy. They composed the music and lyrics for the series’ 2019 musical finale Transparent: Musicale Finale.
In 2023, Soloway co-created the stage musical A Transparent Musical with Joey Soloway and MJ Kaufman, serving as composer and lyricist; it premiered at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.
