Biography
Fereshteh Sadre Orafaee is an Iranian actress, also credited as a voice actress and puppeteer. Born on 29 December 1962 in Tehran, she has been active in film since the late 1980s.
She is known for her role as the Mother in The White Balloon (1995), directed by Jafar Panahi. Other notable film roles include Pari in The Circle (2000), Reyhan in Café Transit (2005), Ghamnaz in When the Moon Was Full (2019), the mother in Yalda (2020) and Mrs Radmehr in A Hero (2021).
Sadre Orafaee won the Best Actress award at the 23rd Fajr Film Festival for Café Transit and Best Supporting Actress at the 37th Fajr Film Festival for When the Moon Was Full. She was previously married to filmmaker Kambuzia Partovi.
