Biography
Fernando Cebrián was a Spanish actor. Born in Bilbao in 1929, he returned from exile in France after the Spanish Civil War and studied acting at the Conservatorio de Arte Dramático del Gran Teatro del Liceo and the Instituto del Teatro de Barcelona. He began his career in the theatre with Nuria Espert and made his screen debut in 1956.
Over the following fifteen years he appeared in around twenty films, including Tristana (1970) as Dr. Miquis for Luis Buñuel and Totò d'Arabia (1965). Cebrián achieved his greatest popularity through television, with notable roles in anthology series such as Estudio 1 and as the mayor in Crónicas de un pueblo (1971–1974). He continued working until the early 1990s and died in Madrid in 2009.
