Biography
Filip Müller was a Slovak Holocaust survivor and member of the Sonderkommando at Auschwitz-Birkenau. He appeared as himself in Claude Lanzmann's documentary Shoah (1985), providing testimony about his experiences in the camp's crematoria and gas chambers.
Born in Sereď in 1922, Müller was deported to Auschwitz in April 1942. He survived until liberation in 1945 and later published the memoir Eyewitness Auschwitz: Three Years in the Gas Chambers (1979). He testified at postwar trials and lived in Germany until his death in Mannheim in 2013.
