Biography
Filip Šovagović is a Croatian actor, playwright and director. Born on 13 September 1966 in Zagreb, he is the son of actor Fabijan Šovagović and the brother of actress Anja Šovagović-Despot. He trained at the Academy of Dramatic Art at the University of Zagreb and has been a member of the ensemble at the Gavella Drama Theatre in Zagreb since 1995.
Šovagović is known for his role as Cera in the 2001 film No Man's Land, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He has appeared in numerous Croatian films and television series, including the comedy series Naša mala klinika. In 2005 he made his directorial début with the film Pušća Bistra.
As a playwright, Šovagović has written five plays; his work The Brick (Cigla) won the Prix Italia. He has also directed short films and received several Zlatna arena awards for his acting.
