Biography
Florence Short (19 May 1889 – 10 July 1946) was an American actress. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of actor Lew Short and a cousin of actress Blanche Sweet. She appeared in numerous silent films and had a stage career that included several Broadway productions.
Short is credited as The Eccentric Aunt in D. W. Griffith’s Way Down East (1920). Other film roles include appearances in Love, Honor and --? (1919), The Idol Dancer (1920), Lessons in Love (1921), The Lights of New York (1922) and The Enchanted Cottage (1924). She died in Los Angeles, California.
