Biography
Frances Reid was an American actress. Born on 9 December 1914 in Wichita Falls, Texas, she trained at the Pasadena Playhouse and made her Broadway debut in the 1930s. She appeared in numerous stage productions, including roles in Hamlet, Cyrano de Bergerac and Twelfth Night.
Reid is best known for portraying Alice Horton on the soap opera Days of Our Lives from its premiere in 1965 until 2007. Her other screen credits include the films Seconds (1966), in which she played Emily Hamilton, The Andromeda Strain (1971) and The Wrong Man (1956). She received a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.
She was married to the actor Philip Bourneuf from 1940 until his death in 1979.
