Biography
Francesca Bertini, also credited as Elena Seracini Vitiello, was an Italian actress. She began her career on the stage in Naples before making her film debut in the late 1900s. She appeared in numerous silent films, including Assunta Spina (1915) and La Tosca (1918).
Bertini married the Swiss banker Paul Cartier in 1921 and largely retired from acting, though she made occasional later appearances. Her final film role was as Sister Desolata in Bernardo Bertolucci's 1900 (1976). She died in Rome on 13 October 1985.
