Biography
Francis Haines is a British composer. Born Francis Philip Haines in September 1957 in Barnet, Middlesex, England, he previously performed as a keyboardist with new wave bands including The Doll, Dramatis and Gary Numan before joining The Hollies from 1983 to 1991.
After leaving The Hollies he concentrated on composing for film and television under the name Francis Haines. His credits include the score for Michael Haneke's The Piano Teacher (2001), Split Second (1992) and Another 9½ Weeks (1997). He has also composed extensively for British children's television series such as Boogie Beebies (2004–2006) and Tikkabilla (2003–2007).
