Biography
François Wertheimer is a French composer, singer-songwriter and actor, born on 4 May 1947 in Paris. He began his professional music career in the late 1960s, releasing solo albums in the early 1970s and writing songs for Barbara, including the album La Louve (1973).
Wertheimer has collaborated extensively with director Agnès Varda, composing music and appearing as an actor or himself in several of her films. His credits include original music for One Sings, the Other Doesn't (1977) and The So-Called Caryatids (1984), as well as a self appearance in the documentary The Gleaners and I (2000) and its 2002 follow-up. He has also worked as a producer and co-founded the audiovisual company Zygote, specialising in 3D films.
