Biography
Françoise Spira was a French actress. She was born on 7 December 1928 in Paris and died on 4 January 1965 in Neauphle-le-Château, Yvelines.
She appeared in films including Fanfan la Tulipe (1952, uncredited), Razzia (1955) as Yvonne, la dame des lavabos, and Last Year at Marienbad (1961) as a character from the hotel. She also worked in theatre, performing with Jean Vilar’s TNP and directing the Théâtre de l’Athénée from 1962 to 1965. During the production of Last Year at Marienbad, she shot Super 8 footage on set that was later edited into the 2010 documentary Souvenirs d’une année à Marienbad by Volker Schlöndorff.
